On Preparedness: An extensive resource guide to build resilience
"There can be no resistance without resilience."
Hello friends. Before I get into what I’m going to say today, I’d like to offer a few resources I have already posted, in addition to resources from others that are far more experienced in this than I am.
Preparedness is something that begins in the mind. Most people think they can make the problem of (insert existential threat here) with buying shit on amazon that promises to solve your problem.
I fell for the same shit too, when I went into panic mode some years ago and started prepping.
One may have all the guns, ammo, freeze dried and canned food, portable water, water filtration & purification systems, IFAKs, the list is endless.. but without a sound mind and without proficiency in using said gadgets, and most importantly, COMMUNITY with a plan for if/when communication grids go down, it doesn’t matter much.
Where to start?
Everything is possible. So not there.
One must assess what is most probable, align that with knowledge of our most pressing survival needs, and work our way down.
In short: Water, food, shelter, intel & communications, situational awareness, transportation, location/area of operations, security and weapons, medical, network and community.
What I saw as most probable, since I had lived through it before, was:
“Civil Unrest” AKA all out chaos/violence, and being trapped like a can of sardines in a large city with no way out, because during these scenarios, the exits to the city mysteriously become blocked. (Ask me about 2020)
Panic leading to resources drying up (food, medicine, clean water, gasoline, etc.)
Grid down scenarios, which entails — gasoline, transport, WATER, food, power, climate control, COMMUNICATION (which means everything you use your phone for is now gone), accessibility to anything that requires electricity for you to enter— some people don’t even have keys for their house, they have door codes. Some people who keep their preps in climate controlled storage units can only access said storage units if the key FAB lets them in - all run on electric / signals which would be down. This was the most concerning to me, because when this happens, people can die from lack of resources and the elements alone. But a prolonged situation like this? You’re gonna have more problems on your hand, especially if you live in a population dense area.
Assessing the area:
Alright, so at this time I definitely lived in a population dense area. Fkn Nashville. Way too many people.
I escaped the tyranny of the vaccine mandates on the West Coast / blue states, but there were still too many fkng people around me. So until I could do another strategic relocation, which I soon did to a more rural area, I had to form multiple bug-out plans and locations.
It’s best to have more than one, because you don’t know what kind of condition roads will be in. It’s best to know how many miles it will take, make sure your car is in good enough condition to handle the drive, and make sure your gas tank stays full and you have access to your own jerry cans filled with however much extra gasoline you’ll need, as you will not have access to gas stations in an actual SHTF scenario.
Tip about storing gas: Do not just store gas. It does expire. It needs fuel stabilizer added to it, which is very cheap and easy to get. Amounts vary depending on how big the jerry can is. Be careful where you store this, and never fill it to the top, as the fumes will expand the can. “Pure Gas” — meaning gas with ZERO ethanol in it (most pumps have at least 10% ethanol in it) is the best way to go, especially if you live in colder climates. There’s an app called Pure Gas that tells you where all the gas stations are that sell ethanol-free gasoline.
This is where the importance of community comes in as well. You don’t want to show up on someones door step AFTER shit hits the fan, so communicate with people before and figure out what your plans and options are. Know how to get there WITHOUT GPS. I wrote everything down the old school way. I also got a map for the region I had at the time just moved to. Yes, they still make those. I also got a compass, bc I didn’t know the fkn area and which way was what. It’s amazing how much we rely on technology… without question to our detriment.
Then of course, there is the bug out bag. Your BOB depends on your bug out plan. I could go off forever on what’s in mine or what everyone as a general rule of thumb needs, or you can take it from an expert:
Bear Independent, AKA TJ Morris, has a great YouTube and even better Patreon community filled with resources. On his YouTube channel, you can find playlist called “The Prepper Classroom” Where he *calmly* takes you through hours of free content on how to get started and what to actually prioritize.
I can’t tell you how many times everyone’s immediate thought is just “guns and ammo” and it stops there. Yeah, you do need that, but your body will also die really fast without water, and everyone else has guns too, soooo… don’t stop there. That’s part of it. but not even the tip of the iceberg.
For those already on self-sustaining homesteads and in intentional communities or MAGs (mutual assistance groups) — yall are likely set and hopefully can stay put with what you’ve already got going on. Salute 🫡
Another good resource on YouTube (and Patreon, which only costs $1 a month) would be Pastor JP AKA Viking Preparedness.
“You do NOT have permission to freak out.”
This is something Bear has said more times than I can count. It’s true. I worked myself into a frenzy when I first started. I was alone, in a new part of the country, well aware of what was going on, and fucking terrified.
Two things helped.
One, I made a list of everything I needed to do to feel even remotely “prepared.” I told myself I’d ONLY do one thing a day on that list. That helped me slow down. It is important to not be in a constant state of hyper-vigilance and fight-or-flight. This is actually a tactic of war— to keep your target/enemy in a constant state of BRACING for impact. By the time you strike, you won’t even need to. They will have worn themselves down both physically and mentally with fear.
Sound familiar?
So it’s important to remember to live your life. This could happen tomorrow, or in 20 years, and any moment in between.
Secondly, I looked into groups in my area that were in the solution and started going to festivals, meetups and events. I met A LOT of really good people, people I still talk to today, even though I don’t live in Tennessee anymore. I learned SO much, and it helped tremendously to see how people ran homesteads, to learn about permaculture, to learn proper tactical training, etcetera.
If you’d like to look into groups in your area, a resource I can give you is freedomcells.org — you’ll need to download the telegram app as well. You can then look up the telegram groups connected to the freedom cells wherever you live, in whatever country you live in. You can also do so from the website.
Everything builds from there. I could write so many articles on the experiences and relationships and opportunities that sprung from me just showing up to ONE event, and then another, and then another, and another… now I know people across the country who all specialize in one thing or another, and if we need each other, we know where to find each other.
Some resources I’ve already shared, before I get into the solar storm / earth disaster topic:
Preppers in the solution, a short podcast I recorded in March. Fast forward to the 5 minute mark to get past the introductory bullshit.
Pay special attention to the remarks from Rebel Scum, who is an excellent example of staying centered in Spirit, no matter what, and finding beauty everywhere. He was someone in my (now deleted) telegram channel, I hope we run into each other somehow and some way again.
Tactical Response:
Resources for getting training for both tactical operations and immediate action medical / trauma medicine. Plus a vlog I made when I went through my first round of training with them. I can’t tell you how much more secure I feel knowing I understand and feel comfortable with firearms, know how to use them, understand situation awareness and the mindsets required, etc.. obviously there is so much more to learn, that’ll never end, but I’m so grateful I at least got started to the point where there is no hesitation or nerves around it anymore. You can’t put a price on that feeling.
Frequency weapons — the list of these are endless. Here’s my solution to it:
Okay friends, now for the last part.
Before I share this content, please do put in the comments any experience you have, any thoughts you have, any concerns or questions. It’s important to have these conversations, and maybe, you may find some people here who are local to you.
Community building is vital. Even if it’s just getting to know your local farmers, getting involved at community grow-ops (shared land where everyone can grow their food. Lord, Joelton TN is such a good example of a community in action) all that stuff. Like minds will travel far together if y’all stay more in the solution than you do hooked on the adrenaline of the problem.
EMPs. I met the men who created EMP Shield, the world’s only military grade EMP shield available to civilians. However, I find it curious that they’ve been contracted by entire county polie departments to install their product on patrol every patrol car.
I have one installed on my Honda now.
I met them a few years back at the Self Reliance Festival in TN. If you don’t know what an EMP is, it’s something that will crash the grid immediately, and everything will be perma-fried. There is no “turning it back on”.
An EMP is an Electro-magnetic pulse that can come in the form of: lightning strikes, SOLAR FLARES/ CMEs (Coronal Mass Ejections), or a high-altitude detonation of a weapon designed to take out the power grid of a country.
I got one for my vehicle because I don’t own a home, I knew my car was all I had if shit hit the fan, so I protected it. However, they do have them for homes. andRVs and even solar panels.
You can do your research on them if you like at EMPShield.com and hey, if you want $50 discounted from whatever you get, use the coupon code Tesstamona. Yes, I’m an affiliate. Or you can just pay full price, I’m not trippin off $50 right now, thank God.
So, this disaster theory regarding the shifting of the Earth’s magnetic poles?
Friends, I’m not coming to you well researched on this particular matter, so let’s peer into it together.
Funny, Rebel Scum, from the podcast above, talked about this. He said that was the scenario he was preparing for. I didn’t really understand but…starting to now.
This video comes from Suspicious 0bservers on YouTube. And hey, after this, you can always make a list and do one thing off it a day. Then make sure you do at least THREE things a day that you know bring joy to your entire being…. working on yourself and helping yourself helps others — we can’t help anyone if we can’t help ourselves. Make sure you stay happy, okay? And healthy!
BONUS VIDEO IF YOU READ THIS FAR:
I made this music video to showcase and honor everyone I had up met in various preparedness and truth seeking communities. I included as many ppl as I could for a 3 minute song.
The song is NOT my musical style, I originally wrote it for a sync placement (movie), and decided that I’d release it on my own as well to make a video about people who were IN the solution, from journalists, to permaculture consultants, firearms instructors, homesteaders, freedom fighters, artists, everyone who was raging against the machine in a real way, not in some passing trendy way. Enjoy. 💜
Great stuff.
Essentials list: air. You need a filtration system for your face, along with some sort of goggles or swim masque. You should also be thinking about a room in your home or shelter where you can filter the air for a few days. Fallout kills. Jerry Pournelle designed an emergency air filter you can make with toilet paper rolls and cardboard boxes in an emergency.
Maps: DeLorme makes gazeteers for every state. I have the ones for the states near me, along with a bunch more in storage in Ottawa Kansas. Long story. I have a bunch of expired Jeps (Jeppesen) aerial maps which show major no fly and notam areas.
Spiritual prep: I strongly encourage everyone to get a rosary and learn to pray the three white rosaries: the joyful, sorrowful, and glorious mysteries. There is no greater protection from evil available. I also have memorised the command of the Vade Retro Satana. (It is not a prayer so don't say "amen" after it. Feel free to say another prayer after it if you wish to conclude with amen.) The prayer to St. Michael the Archangel is also good to know. St. Gertrude the Great wrote a prayer with guidance from Jesus that brings the Holy Souls in purgatory into heaven. Praying it encourages them to pray for you.
"Inconstant Moon" by Larry Niven is a good "what to do when you have hours before shtf" story. Footfall and Lucifer's Hammer are two good novels, both co-written by Niven and Pournelle which help with preparation and ingenuity. Dinner plates can be used to stop tanks if you know how a minefield looks. And stopped armour is vulnerable af
Molotov had a rudimentary recipe. Add a bit of motor oil and a bit of brake fluid to make it stickier.
God brought me to rural Oregon. The Rogue River valley is a good area. Good people here.
Eternal Father please help us free the slaves, stop the wars, and end tyranny. Please help with guidance, resources, ingenuity, endurance, fortitude, and patience. Please show us the little fires so we may pass by them. Please bring love into our lives so we remember what we have to live for. Amen.
Community is key. I have no intention of saying anyone is wrong; but without a community no amount of prep will last. At worst, you will be required to defend your prep to the death. At best, you will die alone. Being in service to others, bringing the little joys: a smile, a cooling cloth to the fevered forehead, a calming fresh herbal tea, a song... I repeat. Community.
