Bitters as Medicine, but How Much?
One of many dilemmas for artists, truth-tellers and healers:
I covered this a bit in my last post, but I covered A LOT in the last post - so I’m going to keep this one simple. I want a genuine poll from the writers (and readers!) of Substack:
Please do elaborate in comments.
To express my general feeling, I’ll share some lyrics from an unreleased song called Lucky Strikes:
i don’t care ‘bout being palatable please remember even bitters are medicinal what is with this bubble wrap nation? It’s our job to sing truth in creation..
However - if we’re aiming to deliver a message that helps others, and going “too hard” (AKA saying it directly) could prevent some (or many) from receiving the message in a helpful manner, that’s where one can become conflicted.
Then the question remains - who exactly are we talking to?
Sometimes, we don’t know.
Is it possible to help “everyone” ?
I’d imagine not, but shit, this is tough.
Is answering YES equal to cutting ones wings? More importantly, is blood on our hands if we do not tell the truth AS IS? Regardless of whether anyone listens?
Or would it be “adapting to the times” to utilize a method of slow exposure to help people out of the machine?
Alright, you’ve heard enough from me, I wanna hear from you.
Also, here’s fun memes, I know y’all love them. I probably stole them from other people on Substack, have no idea who, a lot of y’all post memes, I just collect them.
XO

Hi!
Thanks for reading. If you would like to support the mission of resurrecting ghosts from the machine and being part of a great remembering - you can assist with the sonic delivery of Algorithm Ghetto by pre-saving (for free) at this link. It helps it NOT get eaten alive by the machine, in theory: https://lnk.to/AlgorithmGhetto
Girl! I believe one needs to be true to oneself! Pleasing the masses is not possible and probably not even advisable. We have to keep our mouth shut way too much nowadays and at least creatively we can be ourselves. You are and continue to be an inspiration my friend!
If you censor yourself it's not truthful. Art should be about truth and beauty.
