Venus Becomes Invisible

When I’d hear astrologers who study the ancient Egyptian and Babylonian texts (See Mathesis, translated by Firmicus) referring to “invisible planets”, I assumed they were referencing a planet in retrograde.

I was wrong about that.

The mythology of Inanna or Ishtar (the Goddess who descends into the underworld and rises again) varies slightly, but the point is the same, especially when we are talking about Venus. This is not the story to describe her in retrograde like I had believed for years. It is to describe her when she is “invisible.”

A planet is “invisible” when its rotation gets so close to the sun that no matter where you are on the planet, or what time of early morning or night it is, you cannot see a normally visible planet.

Venus will become “invisible” March 29th, and this period of invisibility will last until July 6th, 2024, as she transits “in the underworld” through the constellation of Aquarius, all the way through to Gemini, where she rises from the underworld and becomes visible to Earth again on July 6th, 2024.

A cycle of being in the underworld for 106 days, but if you count the descent day on the front end and the ascent day on the back end, that adds up to 108, a number with great significance, especially in the context of astronomy, as the distance between the Earth and the Sun is 108 times the Suns diameter. The same is said for the distance between the Earth and the Moon (108x the Moons diameter), among other things.

Note: if you follow tropical astrology, you’ll be under the impression that this takes place from Pisces to Cancer, but if you look in the sky you can understand why I use Sidereal calculations - it matches what’s actually in the sky. All you have to do is look up at night to understand what I’m saying.

The solar system has a “wobble” of about a degree or two every 72 years, the tropical system is 2000~ years old, so divide 72 by that and you’re going to be off by an entire sign most of the time — depending on the constellation, as they are not all the same size.

For the sake of preventing information overload, I am not going to discuss everything else that will be happening during this time in the sky, but it’s quite a bit. Makes what we’ve dealt with astrologically in the last few years feel like a dry run, but that’s for another post.

Venus

Venus will be going invisible, to the underworld. Transiting through several constellations and making various conjunctions in this “underworld” and in some cases, in a “debilitated” state.

I always ask my astrologer how we can leverage difficult energies to the good.

What do we need to do, what are we to learn, how are we to transmute and work with, rather than against?

Only dead fish go with the flow.

He told me that Venus in this state suggests the inner spiritual transformations of the qualities of Venus, the lessons around beauty, love, harmony, balance, relationship, and art.

Inner transformation and spiritual growth are often what people avoid, because with any transformation, it comes with destruction… but these are natural cycles of life.

We can choose to evolve or get wrecked. Grow or die.

I asked what it would be like for those involved in creative pursuits, or those with livelihoods connected to Venus - this could be anyone from a hair stylist to a musician. Poets, painters, singers, oh yeah and writers, so everyone here on Substack.

He said,

“They will go through some sort of their own inner hell at this time — it’s a spiritual work upon the principle of Love, but it’s also the accepting of the past, one’s mistakes, finishing with the past, accepting the new spiritual quest about love and art, especially when Venus becomes conjunct with the sun, which can be a painful moment, and then, when she rises, it means that whoever is there and involved with Venus (love, art, etc) in any way, will become ready to manifest these things in the material world.”

The cycle Venus is currently in still lasts until March 29th. He said our creativity and new ideas of how to finish projects would be heightened until the end of this month, especially right before she goes “invisible”, so capitalize on this. I will absolutely be doing that, and I will be on Substack much less until that window has passed, so I can give more energy to music.

While invisible, this is of course not a signal to not be creative, it just means the energy is gonna change. The ruling planet over art will be in the underworld, in a period of transformation and rebirth.

Are we so different, those of us who are disciples of the Love within Art?

Of course, music will still be released in this time, movies will still come out (are they still making movies?) whatever, you get it, but… I’ll let you pay attention and perceive it for yourself.

I’m not into telling the future, but I am into giving people a heads up, for two reasons:

1. take advantage of now until the 29th if you’re an artist

2. don’t get down on yourself if your creativity feels “off” or different, it’s only that— different. It may ask you to go in a different direction, but this is not a failure on your part, this is a cycle of life, a period of transformation and renewal. They often come with pain, but at the end of the day, the way a transit hits someone (in most cases) manifests in accordance with the substance of the nativity.

According to one of his astrologer friends, he heard in India that the Brahmins went on the radio to tell people “do not get married from now until (fill in the blank date).” They did not tell the people why, they just said “don’t do it until after this date.”

He wondered why, so he looked it up. It was exactly in line with when Venus went invisible and became visible again.

Ruling classes, the elite, people who run the matrix that are privvy to occult knowledge, they all use astrology/astronomy and ancient numerology to leverage themselves.
