Proof of God: Canaries in the Coal Mine
The following stories are unedited and true. Names may be omitted.
Who are the canaries in the coal mine?
They are the ones most people turn away from. They are the ones people give up on. They are the ones people avoid looking at for too long, lest the pain they see in these canaries become contagious.
They are the ones who point out the truth in the sickness and dysfunction of our society. They are often the ones most affected by it.
They are the alcoholics. They are the drug addicts. Those we deem as “mentally ill”. The ones who suffer from PTSD. The ones who are misunderstood by almost everyone around them for not being able to “sit down and shut up” and accept the fate of the conveyor belt.
They are the forgotten ones. They are the inmates. The undesirables. The ones people say will never change.
They are also the revolutionaries.. whether they realize it yet or not. They are the ones who react ALLERGICALLY to the sickness of society, or rather, “the status quo”.
The purpose of this article is to dis-spell the detachment and writing-off of peoples ability to change or succeed, just because all the boxes are checked of “this person is f*cked”.
